The Art of Trolling

If you are reading this, chances are at some point you have been a victim of trolling, or have been trolling. This article is designed to teach inexperienced "trolls" what trolling is, how to troll, how to counter troll, how to recognize trolling, and how to defend from being trolled. Trolling has become the majority term used to describe when a person repeatedly insults, puts down, or tries to aggravate another person or group of people online. This is acomplished by insults, humiliation, and taunts.

How to troll
Trolling requires proper grammar(ussually), attitude, and most importantly, wit. If ur engrish looks any8thing like these, you should give up now. Though sometimes you can use 'bad english' to troll someone that is challenged, or mistypes alot. When trolling it's important to discern who is trollable, and who is out of your league. Victums of trolling are often people that can't take jokes well, or are easily unsettled. If you are such a person, you need to learn to control your feelings for effective trolling. Going into a chat with the intention of trolling one or more people is the most difficult form of trolling, and is susceptible to counter trolling(see section 2). A successful troll will wait for the right opportunity to start insulting someone. This happens when someone says something careless, to which you can use a witty remark to insult them or humiliate them. Example: No it wouldn't work the way I wanted it too" where you respond "thats what she said" and in a perfect world, other people at the chat will then laugh at this. This will then aggravate your victim into becoming serious(hopefully) It may take a few jabs to get them mad. Once they lose their cool, you know you've 'won'. At this point you just continue to further upset them by bugging them, teasing them, and otherwise harrassing them. They will damage themselves through their own remarks, your objective is to capitalize on this as much as possible by provoking them. Spamming is not trolling, this article in no way encourages spamming. Spamming will not gain you popularity, which is most likely your true goal from trolling.

How to Counter Troll
Counter trolling is easier than trolling, this occurs when a person comes on to the chat trying to troll you or your friends. Your first reaction is to take offence and lash out back at them to stand up for yourself or your friends right? Wrong, thats exactly what they want you to do. Counter trolling is done by not caring, or at least acting the part. Example: Hey (your name here) your mommas so fat when she wears yellow people yell school bus school bus. At this point you have a lot of options, remember, play it kool. you can out insult them by turning their own joke against them. Or a more popular lazy version which I personally dislike as it requires little wit, "no you" or variations of such. Your goal to counter troll is to upset the troll, or gain a popular majority so as to humiliate them, or get people annoyed with the troll. Once again, this is done by provoking them, and letting them wreck themselves with their own words, all you need to do is not let them gain the advantage over you.

How to Recognize Trolling/ Defending from trolling
Trolling is easily recognized by a foul stench in the air. Not really. Someone thats trolling is easy to spot by their careless, and pointless aggression towards anons, new members, and friendly trolling with their friends. To avoid being trolled, one should adopt an attitude of not caring online. Dont say to much on the chats, try to avoid walking into insults or humiliation. I personally, usually play call of duty while trolling, it keeps me distracted. This is useful for not overposting, and allows me to glance up, notice someone said something stupid, then type in a witty remark, and then disappear again, until that same person says something again. Disadvantages of this include missing trolling oppertunities, and getting killed while your typing.

Tips on Trolling
Most importantly is an attitude of not caring, or at least pretending you don't care. Sometimes if a person insults you, you can be like "oh yeah, i do do that" or" would you like me to do that" play into it, this turns their insult against them. Remember kids, being an online whore is kool. Trolling girls is something I don't often do, as a male I wouldn't suggest trolling girls online. However as a semi risky gambit, you can flirt with a popular girl on the chat. If she responds, either way you come out advantageous, unless she really digs into you. Her response may be flirty back, this provokes other guys in the chat. Jealousy is a powerful weapon in trolling. If she responds with a quick remark, denying you, or even insulting you, all is not lost. You have gained status merly by her replying. Have confidence, keep up the charade. Her not responding is the worst, because it shows that she didnt care enough to respond, and others may follow. Careful trolling mods, mods will often troll you to get you to say something stupid then ban you. Your best bet is to not back down, but not aggravate them too much. Yeah..you may get banned, but you can always come back the next day(unless you really screw up and get permanently banned).

Hope this helps,Your best bet, is just to ignore trolls in the first place, they will go away eventually. I may write an article for the experienced troll at a later time. Good luck with your trolling endeavours. Am I concerned about this article being trolled? Mildly. Do I care? Not really. Bitches are gunna bitch, no matter what you do.
