I understand that Yuma can’t summon other Numbers besides Hope and Chaos Hope becouse we’ve seen that all of the other Numbers are evil (Shark Drake “tortured” Yuma previously). Yes, we get it, but why doesn’t he summon other Xyz like the musical Djinns or some new Gagaga monsters (Gunman was pretty good)? That would be a change from the usual Hope+Double Up combo…

Yeah except Yuma has literally only summoned those once each and we’ve never seen them since. And in the duel he summoned Gunman in he also summoned Hope as well to finish the duel with the same boring combo.

I’m sure Yugi summons Dark Magician quite a few times, yeah, but he doesn’t finish almost every duel with a decisive attack from Dark Magician, with the same repetitive combo.

yea I didn’t mention Judai cuz while he had an Ace monster
he always fused it into something new
so he had an Ace archtype so to speak

and well yes
but just like Yugi and Yusei summoned other mobs
Yuma does it aswell:
-One-Skill Gainer
-Gagaga Gunman
-(the monster with the guitar and tuba…forgot their name)

but just like Yugi and Yusei
there wasn’t an important duel where they didn’t summon their Ace monster
it wasn’t as annoying in 5d’s because there were 5 Ace monsters so it was mixed up abit

personally I wouldn’t mind if Yuma would lose to Tron
and then Kiteo would become the main char lol
althogh people would start complaining about Galaxy-eyes in every episode lol
Yuma is such a terrible duelist though x.x
so people wouldn’t mind a new main char xD

and no the Emperors Keys doesn’t “Tame” the numbers
the key is where either Astral’s Spaceship or portal machine is held
and each number is a part of that, that broke off
(thats why whenever a number is summoned it looks like a part and then turns into a monster)
and thats why he needs all those numbers to either get back to the barrier world
or build a bridge to it
and to regain his memory of course

and NitE are those good subs or Rushed subs?
cuz the Rushed ones are pretty bad and hard to understand

Ps.
Maybe he doesn’t summon the the other Numbers because they are too corrupted?
like when he got control of chaos 32, even Astral couldn’t protect him from
that number
…even though Kiteo’s photon change protected him from #9 lol…..
so like.. Astral had 99 or 98 bad memories and only 1 good one and thats #39 hope xD?

I agree with TKGriffiths again. Yugi and Yusei definitely had Dark Magician/Stardust Dragon (respectively) as their ace monsters, but they were both intelligent enough to mix it up again. As for Judai (who you didn’t mention) and his reliance on Elemental Hero Neos from Season 2 onwards I can forgive that because of all the different Fusions that Neos had. If Hope could do something like that I wouldn’t mind it so much, but Yuma’s entire Deck just relies on two things – #39 and Chaos #39. I THINK that the writers tried to justify this in Episodes 37-38 by having that moment with #96, basically saying the Numbers all hate Astral and want to destroy stuff with #96, only for Hope to stand against them. I thought The Emperor’s Key was meant to tame and control Numbers, was this a lie?

Yugi and Yusei had a lot more variety than Yuma. He summons it way too often. The only good cards he uses are used solely to summon Hope. Think of all the things he could summon if he used the gagagas for something else….

I agree that he needs a new tactic
but he will always summon #39 Hope
just like:
-Yugi always summoned Dark Magician
-Yusei always summoned Stardust Dragon

The unfortunate reason for the long string of raws for this show is actually kind of sad. The girl who was solely working on the series was taken to the hospital on June 28th 2012, where she died. This is the first time I’ve seen this kind of thing happen so… someone else has picked up the subs as you can see…R.I.P I guess…
